Mobile applications

Wojewódzka i Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Zbigniewa Herberta w Gorzowie Wielkopolskim offers the following mobile applications:

Architectural accessibility

Main Building and Historic Villa

Sikorskiego 107
66-400 Gorzów Wielkopolski

The main building has one entrance from Kosynierów Gdyńskich Street. The main entrance to the building is barrier-free. The corridor and hall allow communication and free movement for people with disabilities. The main library has two panoramic elevators that allow wheelchair users to move freely across all spaces.

Accessible toilets for people with disabilities are located on:
- the ground floor, where the Information Center, Main Lending, Integration and Activity Center, and Reading Rooms are located,
- the first floor, where the Children's Department and Audiovisual Collections Department are located,
- the second floor, where the Scientific Lending, Regional Collections Department, Bibliographic and Information Department, and Administration are located.

In front of the main building, there is a parking lot with a designated space for people with disabilities. Aside from the elevator, there are no other signs or systems to assist blind or visually impaired individuals in navigating the building, such as Braille signs, audible information systems, or tactile paths that would aid in movement inside and outside the building. Individuals with guide dogs are allowed access to the Library.

At the main entrance, there is a return slot for the 24-hour self-service return of borrowed library materials (books, CD/DVD collections).

The Historic Villa, where the Special Collections Department is located, is accessible via a connector. The connector is equipped with an elevator, which allows wheelchair users to reach the ground floor of the building. The first and second floors are not accessible to wheelchair users. Due to its historic nature, modifications and renovations to the building are often difficult or impossible to carry out.

Communication and information accessibility

Wojewódzka i Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Zbigniewa Herberta w Gorzowie Wielkopolskim offers a Video Interpreter service for deaf individuals. The Video Interpreter station is located on the ground floor of the main library building near the Information Desk (Sikorskiego 107, entrance from Kosynierów Gdyńskich) and is available from Monday to Friday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
The station is marked with a special graphic. The Video Interpreter service involves connecting online with a sign language interpreter. The interpreter visible on the computer screen will mediate communication between the person using sign language and the library staff.
A person wishing to use the Video Interpreter service does not need to make an appointment in advance. They only need to inform the staff of the need for this form of communication. For example, they can show a note saying "I would like to use the Video Interpreter." The staff will arrange the connection with the interpreter within a few minutes.

An induction loop is available at Branch 6. The main building, Historic Villa, and other branches do not have induction loops or other hearing support systems.
In the branches, there is no option to use an on-site or online sign language interpreter.

At the Integration and Activity Center (main building, ground floor, room no. 2), there is specialized equipment for people with visual disabilities:
- A computer station for people with low vision, with access to the electronic catalog and the Internet.
- Auto-Reader - two devices for reading printed text aloud using synthetic speech.
- PLEXTALK - a recorder that creates DAISY 2.02 audio books and music CDs.
- 6 Czytaków - urządzenia do odsłuchiwania cyfrowej książki mówionej.
